I have been collecting panels of Fiona Fox from the comics and I thought I'd share them for posterity's sake since she is no longer in the comic series.

It’s usually easy to separate out comic arcs based on the story but here we have two stories split and spread out. I originally thought I’d put 165 and 172 together since 165 is supposed to foreshadow 172, but after looking at it all again I just decided to lump all of Mr. Flynn’s “good” Fiona into one group of slides. Mr. Flynn introduces (or reintroduces, depending on how you look at it) a new main villain right from the first issue and his name is Scourge (formally Anti-Sonic or Evil-Sonic), right from the start it’s quite clear he’s a force to be reckoned with. So Scourge is part of 160, 161, and 165. The issues with 162, 163, and 164 follow along another story with Mogul, the Destructix, Merlin, and a Chaos gem. You can tell this series was probably written out before Mr. Flynn came in and he wasn’t going to alter it much. The other issues (160-161-165) are where Mr. Flynn had a lot more liberty to do what he wanted.

When I first read the comic series I read it backwards, going from 172 on back (yeah I know a bit of a foolish way to read a comic). So in the beginning I actually thought Bean, Bark, and Fiona were together in earlier issues, same thing with Rouge and Fiona.  It was only later that I realized it was a Retcon (*Comic book term used to rewrite history). I then thought “Well OK… then they will probably interact later on in the comic right?”  Nope they don’t… (I was so looking forward to seeing something with Rouge and Fiona… especially about Scourge)    Looking back on this it just kind of makes the Retcons look sort of… I don’t know… one time and cheap I guess.

I also first thought Mr. Flynn planned out Fiona’s turn to evil right from the start… however now looking through the issues again a couple times I can see the inconstancies with the story and I think it was a shift “midstream” somewhere during the 162-163 time frame when he didn’t have much to do with those issues (I can’t imagine he’d be doing a rewrite during 164 but who knows). It’s as if Mr. Flynn had planned something for her and then switched it. We don’t see Fiona after 165 until issue 172, however during this time Sonic mentions several times that she is missing and no one knows where she is.

What what I've read, Fiona found an attraction to Sonic.  And it was genuine as she was excited watching his battle with Croc... topus...  She was actually happy dating Sonic and had a genuine care for him, making sure he was fine after he gets hurt.  And Sonic in turn wanted to put Fiona at ease with her shady past that she wanted to leave behind.

But then the story tells me that she was having an affair with Scourge?!  That does not add up with what we've read.

And it would have been interesting to see Fiona interact with Nic again, see more of her with Bean and Bark, or have a rivalry between Rouge.
